Dooley & Associates was honored to be the agency chosen to produce the 2015 Kenosha Area Business Alliance (KABA) Business Excellence Awards winner videos. This annual awards dinner was held on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and is one of the premier business events in Kenosha County.
We had a wonderful time meeting with all of the award winners, visiting their businesses and creating the videos that would help them celebrate their accomplishments in our community.
2015 Business of the Year: ASYST Technologies
ASYST Technologies is a plastic-injection molder which engineers, manufactures and distributes headlight adjusters and lighting components for companies in the automotive industry all over the world. They center their business on customer service, intellectual property, and innovation. ASYST holds 17 U.S. patents, three European patents and one Japanese patent. They are also the sole licensee to 17 additional U.S. patents and eight pending applications.
2015 Small Business of the Year: Specialized Accounting Services
Jamie Hogan founded Specialized Accounting Services (SAS) in 2008 with just a few employees at a small office in Pleasant Prairie. Today, they employ almost 50 people and have moved its growing workforce several times as they’ve outgrown their office space. SAS specializes in payroll, accounting and tax services. They work with more than 570 client locations both locally and across the country…and that number continues to grow.
Kurt Penn: 2015 Entrepreneur Of The Year
Kurt Penn proved to be entrepreneurial from a very young age, starting a baseball camp at the age of 12. Fast forward to 1994: After a career in food processing, Kurt realized that certain food products could be improved in quality and nutrition and he went out on his own to found Penn Valley Farms. The successful company was sold to Coleman Natural Foods in 2003, which was then purchased by Perdue - the largest producer of natural and organic proteins in the US.
